AUSSIE TIGER PRAWNS HEALTH BENEFITS
Tassal Aussie Tiger Prawns are low in fat, nutrient dense and protein rich.
Prawns are a great source of Protein
With just 5-6 large Aussie Tiger Prawns offering more than 20g of protein, for as few as 20 prawns you can create a protein rich, family friendly meal with a similar amount of protein per person as you would find in a fillet of steak or chicken breast.
Prawns are nutrient rich
Prawns include a wide range of essential nutrients and minerals including Vitamin B12, zinc, magnesium and Vitamin E needed for a healthy balanced diet.
‘Prawns are a low calorie, nutrient-rich protein, containing high amounts of selenium, as well as calcium, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, B6 and niacin, which are all important for a healthy diet.‘ – Susie Burrell, Leading Dietitian and Tassal Brand Ambassador
Incorporating our Tiger Prawns into your diet can be an excellent way to enjoy a delicious meal while reaping the nutritional benefits that contribute to a healthy balanced diet.
Prawn sizes
Just like us, Tiger Prawns come in all different shapes and sizes. Prawns are graded by kilo but an easy way to work out how many prawns per kilo is to simply double the grade.
SMALL 31-40/lb = 68-88/kg
MEDIUM 21-30/lb = 46-66/kg
LARGE 16-20/lb = 35-44/kg
X-LARGE 10-15/lb = 22-34/kg
JUMBO U10 = <22/kg
So the smaller the number, the bigger the prawn!
